Bloodlust chap. 23Erik carried the half conscious Rose bridal style along the basement of the opera. He could hear the people coming for him, so he knew he had to move quickly. Rose was breathing unevenly and she stared up at nothing with heavy-lidded eyes. Blood was trickling down her neck from where Erik had bit her. Erik regretted it fully, but if he didn’t bite her properly, she would die.Bloodlust chap. 23
Erik carried her up the lake into the lair and he then laid her on the bed. “Rose,” he spoke softly. “Can you hear me?”
She looked at him with her heavy-lidded eyes and nodded slightly. She felt so weak she didn’t

Bloodlust chap. 22Rose was preparing for the final act in her dressing room. So far the show had been amazing, even though some of the audience was unfamiliar with all these vampire terms. Rose knew that the dream she had the previous night was just a figment of her imagination. She knew Erik was dead and he was not going to be here.Bloodlust chap. 22
A knock came at her door, “Rose, we are about to begin.”
She hurriedly put on her cloak and walked out to her place on the stage. Now was the moment of truth.
